For years, New Jersey gun owners have wondered why we keep losing our rights and have no representation against the anti-gun bigots who will stop at nothing to destroy the Second Amendment and anything related to it - including preventing legitimate gun ranges from being built. That was and still is the reason why The New Jersey Second Amendment Society (NJ2AS) was formulated and has grown into the state's largest and most effective Second Amendment organization.
We cannot continue to remain silent about the fact that for over 9 months, Scott Bach, who is the Executive Director of the Association of NJ Rifle and Pistol Clubs (ANJRPC) and an NRA board member, was missing in action when the town of Ramsey fought tooth-and-nail to prevent a top-of-the-line gun range from being built in the town. Per the ANJRPC's mission statement: “The organization’s mission or most significant activities coordinate the interest of all rifle, pistol and shooting clubs in NJ.” (Keyword: all.)

Shayna Lopez-Rivas’ story matters and she’s got a message that New Jersey’s anti-gun politicians and advocates need to hear.
A New Jersey native and campus carry advocate, Lopez-Rivas was raped at knifepoint on her gun-free campus at Florida State University in 2014. Since that horrific crime, Shayna has gone from anti-Second Amendment advocate to concealed carry activist that is dead serious when she says “never again."Read more

Today the Supreme Court declined to hear the Peruta case. The Peruta case was about whether or not states could require citizens to show "good reason" to exercise their constitutional right to bear arms, like New Jersey does. Their refusal to hear the case does not mean that they agree with the lower court's ruling on the issue, but it does mean that for now we're stuck waiting for the Supreme Court to once and for all declare what we already know; that we have a constitutional right to carry firearms for self-defense.Read more

Until now, the New Jersey Second Amendment Society has not taken a position on the state’s new bail reform system. Though, after reviewing changes proposed by some of New Jersey’s worst anti-gun legislators, it’s clear our organization and other concerned civil liberty advocates must mobilize.
Freedom itself is at stake, literally.
The Supreme Court put off the Peruta case, which could restore concealed carry in NJ if taken up, again this morning. Second Amendment advocates are eagerly watching the courts to see what the court will do with this case, because if the court were to strike down California concealed carry laws, New Jersey's would be on the chopping block as well.Read more
We're back with an update on the National Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act (HR38). HR38 nearly has enough has enough cosponsors for the bill to pass the House of Representatives as is. Currently there are 193 cosponsors of the bill, those 193 have already indicated their intention to vote for the bill. However of those 193, only one is from New Jersey. We're trying to change that though and we need your help.Read more
There's two things NJ2AS members know all too well:
1. Justice is not equal in New Jersey
2. Gun Control laws in New Jersey are absolutely unjust
Unfortunately, especially for out-of-state citizens unaware, when those two ideas clash the outcomes can be horrific depending on who you are.
